Mangeshkar, hailed as the preeminent singer in Indian cinema history, recorded over 30,000 songs in 36 Indian languages and a few foreign dialects. Tendulkar, who shared a close bond with ‘Lata didi’ and often regarded her as a motherly figure, reflected on her remarkable career achievements. He marveled at the extensive repertoire of songs she contributed and bestowed upon her the title of the ‘voice of India.’

Lata Mangeshkar, who departed on February 06, 2020, at the age of 92, received significant recognition for her outstanding contributions to the field of music. The Indian government honored her with prestigious awards, including the Padma Bhushan in 1969, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1989, and the Padma Vibhushan in 1999. In 2001, she was also granted Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India.
