‘Magnificent Mary’, as the Boxing great Mary Kom is referred to, has been named as the brand ambassador for the global sportswear giant, PUMA for a two year period on Monday.
The six time world champion will be PUMA India’s new brand ambassador for the company’s women training category and will also represent the brand for their marketing campaigns throughout the country.
The Champion Boxer and a mother of three will lead PUMA’s #DoYou campaign that aims to motivate women throughout the nation to be strong and achieve their goals.
Talking about the association, Mary Kom said, “Being a woman and a mother I have faced several challenges that I have powered through, thanks to my family and team.”
“PUMA as a brand has always believed in supporting and encouraging women, which made it a perfect fit for me,” she added.
PUMA India Managing Director, Abhishek Ganguly said: “We are very thrilled to welcome Mary to the PUMA family. She is going to take our women’s category in India to the next level.
According to a statement, the association has been carried out by IOS Sports and Entertainment Pvt Ltd, which exclusively represents Mary Kom.
According to the recent International Boxing Association (AIBA)’s latest rankings, Mary Kom is placed on the top of the charts in the weight division with 1700 points.
