M C Mary Kom has been selected as the chairperson of the International Boxing Association’s (AIBA) champions and veterans committee. She is six-time world champion and 2012 Olympic Bronze-medalist. A panel of the world boxing governing body has selected her for the new role. 37-year-old Mary Kom has been selected after voting by the AIBA’s board of directors.

“It’s truly a pleasure to inform you that you have been chosen to serve as the chairperson of the AIBA Champions and Veteran Committee.” AIBA President Umar Kremlev informed in a letter to Mary Kom. She is also the current brand ambassador of the body.
“We all have faith and confidence in your vast knowledge and experience. We are sure that you will make a valuable contribution to this committee,” he added.
The Selection Panel
It Consists of the most learned boxing veterans of all times. They all have achieved significant results in their career. As a part of AIBA they all can share their knowledge & the skill. Other members of the panel are unknown.
Mary Kom’s say
Right now she is in Spain to compete in the Boxam International Tournament in Castellon. She expressed her gratitude for the honor in a tweet.

Mary Kom has qualified for her 2nd and probably the final Olympics of her life. The Tokyo Summer Olympics Games in July-August 2021.
