Badminton Tournaments In India: Premier Badminton League

The Premier Badminton League is India’s only Franchise or commercial badminton league. It began in 2013 as the Indian Badminton League and has since grown to become a famous and successful international competition in India. The first season of the Indian Badminton League featured six teams, with Hyderabad Hotshots taking home the trophy. The event was not held for three years after the initial season. However, it was resurrected in 2016 as the Premier Badminton League. The third season of the Premier Badminton League will feature the Hyderabad Hunters.
Format of The Premier Badminton League
A league-cum-knockout format is used in the League. Each club plays five ties with the other five teams in the league stage. Each encounter will consist of three games, each of which will be worth 15 points. Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, Mixed Doubles, and Men’s Singles are the five ties. It also adds the ‘Trump Card Rule’ to make the league more interesting. According to the Trump Card rule, each side deliberately chooses one of their five tiebreaker matches as their Trump match. In a trump match, a win earns the team a bonus point, while a defeat earns the team a penalty point. Badminton Tournaments In India: All India Inter-Institutional Badminton Tournament
Teams from the Reserve Bank of India, LIC of India, BSNL Sports Board, Airports Authority of India, Food Corporation of India, Ordnance Factory Sports Control Board, Department of Atomic Energy, Air Force Sports Control Board, and Employees State Insurance Corporation will compete in both team and individual events at the annual All India Inter-Institutional Badminton Tournament.
Men Singles, Men Doubles, Women Singles, Women Doubles, and Mixed Doubles are the divisions in the team event.
The top team will go to the Senior National Championship, and all Finalists in all events will be able to compete at Senior Nationals.
Sub Junior Indian National Badminton Championships
Badminton Tournaments In India: Annually, the Sub Junior National Badminton Championships are staged. It is usually held at the end of the year. The 32nd Sub Junior Championship will be held in 2018. It is generally divided into two categories: U13 and U15. Both boys and girls are eligible to participate in the competition. Additionally, under each, there are common divisions of singles and doubles. Two singles and one doubles entry from each state, as well as the top 16 singles and top 8 doubles players from the BAI rankings, are all eligible to compete in this event.
Junior Indian National Badminton Championships

Each state is allowed to enter two singles, one double, and one mixed doubles entry in this event. In U17, the top 16 singles players and top 8 doubles players from the BAI rankings are eligible. The U19 division includes the top 12 singles players, as well as the top 6 doubles and mixed doubles players from the BAI rankings.

Eligibility for participation in this event-
- Each state has two singles, one double, and one mixed doubles entry.
- According to BWF rating inside 50 and BAI ranking, the top 8 players are placed directly into the pre-quarterfinals.
- Top four rated players according to BWF rankings, all of whom are in the top 50, as well as the top four ranked players according to BAI rankings.
