Why did Virat Kohli fell at Sachin’s feet?
“I was totally unaware of what was happening. I asked Virat ‘what are you doing?’. Told him that there is no need to touch my feet and such things don’t happen here. Then he got up and we looked at pranksters standing behind, they all started laughing,” Tendulkar said.-- Advertisement --
Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday recalled the incident when Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli fell at his feet during the 1st meeting in the dressing room. He told that few senior cricketers pranked Kohli on his debut match. Tendulkar shared many funny episodes from his playing days while speaking on a YouTube show #LegendsWithUnacademy.

“I will manage both, as I have done it in the past too. At least I don’t have exams on competition days, so it’s manageable,” Manu Bhaker said to PTI.
India’s elite shooter Manu Bhaker (19) will be giving her 4th semester BA exams from her hotel room in Zagreb, Croatia. The Indian shooting team has been camping in Europe for an 80-day training session for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Manu is confident in managing her studies and Olympic preparation together.
Why does Tim Paine believe Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world?
“For Virat Kohli, I’ve said many times, he seems like the type of player you would love to have on your team. He is competitive. He is the best batsman in the world,” Paine said.
Remembering the on-field battle between the Indian and the Australian side during the 2018-19 series, the 36-year-old Australian skipper Tim Paine said he will always “remember” the “competitive” Virat Kohli. Tim said on the ‘Gilly and Goss’ podcast on Sunday.
The interesting thing in Tim’s statement was- last year just before the Ind-Aus series he said that Kohli is “just another player” in the Indian team who “doesn’t really bother me”.
God feels Anxiety too…
“I felt the anxiety for 10-12 years, had many sleepless nights before a game. Later on, I started accepting that it was part of my preparation. I made peace with times I was not able to sleep in the night. I would start doing something to keep my mind comfortable.”
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday said he battled anxiety for a major part of his 24-year-old career. He later realized that his pre-game quirks were an important part of his preparation.
Talking about mental health, which has gained significance in the COVID times with players spending a lot of time in bio-bubbles, Tendulkar said acceptability is the key.
Why PV Sindhu doesn’t train with the rest of the Indian Olympic-bound team?
“I think Singapore will be the last competitive event before the Olympics. That’s why I am playing matches against different players regularly and my coach Park is trying to create match situations for me during training sessions.
The lack of competitions before the Olympics is a major concern for many Indian athletes but not so much for PV Sindhu. Currently, Sindhu has been training under her Korean coach Park Tae Sang in Telangana and does her fitness training at Suchitra academy to get a match-like situation in training sessions.
Due to the high rise in COVID-19 cases in India, the Badminton World Federation has canceled the three Olympic qualifiers in India, Malaysia, and Singapore. These were to be the last set of events before the Tokyo Games in July-August.
Why India hockey skipper Rani Rampal feels lucky?
“People were struggling to find hospital beds, to get hold of oxygen cylinders; many people lost their jobs, many were not able to get a meal. At least we were safe in our rooms, getting nutritious meals, I felt I am lucky and blessed.”
The captain of the Tokyo Olympics-bound Indian women’s hockey team, Rani Rampal, feels that she is lucky as she has recovered safely from the Covid-19. Earlier, 6 women Hockey players and two support staff tested positive at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) center in Bengaluru.
“I felt a bit sad and shocked when I found I was positive,” Rani says from Bengaluru on Sunday.
