Indian cricketer KL Rahul will most likely miss the World Test Championship (WTC) final in London next month due to his injury. The LSG captain has left the team camp due to an injury that has ended his IPL 2023 season. Rahul is currently in Mumbai undergoing scans to determine his availability for the WTC final. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken over his case, but no official announcement has been made regarding KL Rahul’s injury.
There is speculation that Rahul’s injury may be a hamstring or hip injury, and given his medical history, his fitness for the WTC final is uncertain. LSG has not yet decided regarding the replacement for Rahul, as there are only four IPL games left for the 2023 season. Krunal Pandya has been named skipper for LSG.
The Indian cricket team is set to play against Australia in the ICC World Test Championship final from June 7 to 11, immediately after the IPL 2023. Meanwhie, the LSG fans are in panic over Rahul’s ‘very serious’ injury, which has thrown his World Test Championship final appearance into doubt.
Suryakumar Yadav, who has regained his form in the Indian Premier League after being left out of the team due to poor form in the Test and ODI series against Australia, could be considered as a replacement option for the middle order if Rahul is ruled out due to injury. The Indian team will most likely leave for London for the WTC final on May 23, right after the IPL ends on May 21.
