On Friday, amidst the high-tech and dazzling ceremony at the Jupiter Hall in Indira Gandhi Prathisthan, the CM of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, along with Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur, unveiled the official logo, mascot, torch, anthem, and jersey of the Khelo India University Games (KIUG) Uttar Pradesh 2022.
Inspired by the ideology of Kaushal, Neeti, and Dhairya, the games will take place from May 25 to June 3 in various cities of Uttar Pradesh.

The launch event was a spectacle of anamorphic visual delights, featuring 3D displays, impressive technological wonders, and dazzling product launches. Alongside, there were stunning cultural performances that engaged and impressed the audience. The event offered an immersive experience of a virtual world of high-tech entertainment.
Other dignitaries present at the event were Girish Chandra Yadav, Sports Minister, Govt of UP, Daya Shankar Singh, Transport Minister (Independent Charge), Govt of UP, Navneet Sehgal, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Sports & Youth Welfare, Govt. of UP and Ekta Vishnoi, Deputy Director General, Sports Authority of India, Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, AIU, Sanjay Saraswat, Executive Director, SAI and other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Yogi Adityanath stated,
“Today the environment and the perception of the state of Uttar Pradesh has undergone a massive transformation with peace and rule of law prevailing which is why sports and sportspersons are flourishing here.”
“I welcome all participating athletes and coaches. officials and support staff to the 3rd Khelo India University Games Uttar Pradesh 2022 and wish them a pleasant stay in the state. I am confident that our team will ensure the best conditions, sporting facilities, and infrastructure to make this event a memorable one. Khelega India, Badhega India,”
Sports Minister, Anurag Thakur stated,
“It gives me great satisfaction today that the Khelo India movement, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a revolution and that revolution has today reached Uttar Pradesh, India’s largest state. University athletes participating in these games will know that sports itself are a great pathway to learning the hardest lessons of life.”
The Chief Minister himself unveiled the game’s mascot, Jitu the Barasingha, a fascinating and vibrant state animal that embodies the spirit of “Garv se Gaurav.”
Over 4,000 athletes representing 200 Indian universities are set to participate in the games featuring 21 sporting disciplines, officially scheduled to take place from May 25 to June 3, 2023.
