- Maharashtra cemented their place at the top of the Khelo India Games points table by winning 2 gold medals on Wednesday. They now have 28 gold medals.
- Hosts Assam took their gold medal tally to six.
- Haryana remained second with 23 gold medals.
The sixth day of the Khelo India Games 2020 saw Hosts Assam take their gold medal tally to six while neighbour West Bengal added three yellow metals to their tally. Reigning champions Maharashtra, though, continued their domination on the medals tally on Wednesday.
There were as many as 17 gold medals at stake and Maharashtra and Haryana picked up two apiece to cement their top spots in the medals table.
Both of the former’s golds came at the velodrome where Pooja Baban Danole of Kolhapur won her fourth gold in the girls’ under-17 competition whereas Mayur Pawar emerged the fastest under-21 rider.

By the end of Day 6, as a result, Maharashtra had a total of 110 medals with 28 of them gold.
Haryana, on the other hand, won their medals through U-17 rider Arab Singh (boys’ individual pursuit) and Anjali Chaudhary (girls’ under-21 25m pistol event).
The North Indian state comes in at the second spot with 73 medals, including 23 top podium finishes.
UP edges past Delhi
Uttar Pradesh moved past Delhi to the third spot after their boys U-17 volleyball team won the final against Uttarakhand.
UP and Delhi both have 17 gold and 48 medals. However, they are separated only by the silver medal count.
West Bengal clinched three gold medals through the U-21 mixed team rifle shooters Amartya Mukherjee and Ayushi Podder, sprint cyclist Triyasha Paul, and the girls U-17 volleyball squad.

As a result of the three medals, the State entered the top 10 on Wednesday with 22 medals of which seven gold.
Elsewhere, Triyasha was joined by Odisha’s Swasti Singh and Danole as multiple gold winners in the cycling competition.
Local favourite Rimanju Roy might have finished with a better medal haul in the individual pursuit after clocking a faster time in the bronze medal ride-off in the under-17 final.
South Indian state Kerala won its only gold through the U-21 girls’ volleyball team who defeated West Bengal in straight sets.
