Jr. Hockey World Cup 2021: Date | Time | Venue | Schedule

The Junior Hockey World Cup for men will be starting today (24 November) in Odisha. The FIH (The International Federation of Hockey) led tournament will continue till the 5th of December this year.

All matches will be conducted with strict protocols and in closed stadiums due to COVID-19. The Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar is supposed to host all the matches of this quadrennial event.

Sixteen teams will battle each other to see who wins the tournament. A few top teams like Australia, New Zealand, and England are not playing in the world cup due to the COVID-19 situations. Teams like the United States, Canada, and Poland replaced these teams for the event.

The first match will be Belgium against South Africa on 24 November. India, which is not only the host but also the defending champion, will play their first match against France on 24th Nov. The match will be played at 8:00 pm Indian Standard Time (IST).

Odisha Sports had also previously hosted the 2014 Champions Trophy, 2018 Senior World, and the 2017 FIH World Cup.

Pool

  • Pool A-  Chile, Malaysia, Belgium, and South Africa
  • Pool B- India (C), Canada, France, and Poland
  • Pool C-  Netherlands, Spain, Korea, and the United States
  • Pool D- Argentina, Egypt, Germany, and Pakistan
