The world no. 37 Sathiyan made his way to the men’s singles third round at the World Table Tennis Championship by claiming a victory of 4-0 over Russia’s Vladimir Sidorenko on Friday.
He also defeated his 179th ranked contender 11-9, 11-9, 11-8, 11-6 in the round of 64. He will next compete against Nigeria’s world no. 17 Aruna Quadri in the round of 32.
The round of 32

The world no. 30 Sharath Kamal suffered a huge loss during his opening round on Tuesday but he managed to cheer his audience with his skills in the men’s doubles alongside Sathiyan and in mixed doubles alongside Archana Kamath.
The Indian combination of Sharath and Archana defeated Algeria’s Sami kherouf and Katia Kessaci. With a 3-0 win in the round of 32.
Whereas, Sathiyan and Manika Batra played their round of 32 mixed doubles after the first round bye against their opposing combatants of Puerto Rico Adriana Diaz and Brian Afanador.
However, in women’s doubles Archana and Manika had got their first round bye.
