The former U-19 coach will be overseeing all the cricket related activities at the prestigious facility. He will also be involved in coaching, mentoring, motivating and training players, apart from coaches and support staff.

He will also be seen working closely with the head coach of the national women’s and men’s team apart from the coaches of the developmental teams — India U-19, India U-23, India A, — in order to demark key training methods as well as the areas for development.

“He will travel with India A and U-19 teams but not for the entirety of the tour. It is a much bigger responsibility and it will require him to spend more time at NCA than with the junior teams,” an official from BCCI had told PTI after the CoA meeting in New Delhi.

“Paras Mhambrey and Abhay Sharma will continue to be with A and under-19 team for now. Though we are looking to bolster the coaching staff,” he added.

Dravid, along with Saba Karim, the BCCI general manager (operations) and Tufan Ghosh, the NCA chief operating officer, will soon kick-start the interview process of candidates shortlisted for a few coaching and support staff vacancies at the academy.

After having invited applications for the posts of batting coach, pace bowling coach, trainers and physiotherapists, the BCCI has further shortlisted few candidates for each of these positions.
