ISSF World Cup: India clinches two more medals on Day-2

India clinches two more medals on Day-2 of the ongoing ISSF World Cup. Indian Shooters Rhythm Sangwan and Varun Tomar clinched the 10m Air Pistol mixed team silver. Meanwhile, Narmada Nithin & Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil bagged bronze in Air Rifle mixed team event on Thursday.

In the Pistol mixed team event on Thursday, Rhythm, and Varun were handed an 11-17 loss by the Chinese team of Wei Qian and Jinyao Liu in the gold medal playoff. Therefore, the duo had to settle for a silver.

Shooters Narmada and Rudrankksh finished third in the qualifications with 632.0. The duo in the Rifle mixed team event defeated China’s Qiongyue Zhang and Haonan Yu 16-8 to clinch the bronze medal on ISSF World Cup Day 2.

Narmada, after the competition, said,

“There was pressure obviously, but then we had a really good match- the competition was so good and we quite enjoyed it.”

Meanwhile, Rudrankksh said,

“We were just asked to focus on our process and if we would have got Gold we would have been motivated but the bronze motivates us, even more, to do better next time.”
