Rhythm’s achievement opened India’s medal tally after Sarabjot Singh and Esha Singh missed out on medals despite qualifying for the finals in the men’s and women’s 10m air pistol events. During the qualification round, Rhythm scored 581 points, while Esha scored 579 points in the 60-shot event, earning them spots in the eight-woman 24-shot final in the third and seventh positions, respectively.

In the final round, Ukrainian legend Kostevych began with a solid 10.6, but the Indians struggled early, with Esha beginning with three shots in the eight-ring. However, after the 20th shot, Rhythm had climbed up to the third spot, trailing Kostevych by just one point and Korakaki by 2.7 points. Rhythm continued to fight but eventually finished a point behind Kostevych, securing her first individual senior medal at an Olympic event.

In the men’s 10m air pistol, Sarabjot Singh scored the highest qualification score of 589. However, he missed out on a medal while finishing fourth. The gold medal was won by 23-year-old Iranian Sajad Poorhosseini, who came back from behind to beat Oleh Omelchuk of Ukraine with two brilliant 10.9s in his card at the end stages.
