Opener Sanjay Raghunath and wicketkeeper-batsman Akshay Wadkar starred on Day 2 for Vidarbha in the Irani Cup match at Nagpur against Rest of India. The Ranji Trophy champions Vidarbha posted 245/6 at the end of the day, trailing by 85 runs.
On Day 1, the Rest of India team posted 330 on the back of opener Mayank Agarwal’s 95 and Hanuma Vihari’s brilliant 114. Aditya Sarwate and Akshay Wakhare’s three-wicket hauls ensured the Rest of India did not near 400 in their first innings.
On Day 2, Vidarbha’s captain Faiz Fazal and Sanjay Raghunath started very well. The duo put up a half-century stand. Fazal fell to Gowtham for 27. Atharwa Taide made 15.

Ganesh Satish and Sanjay Raghunath both put up a 62 run partnership. Satish fell 2 runs short of his half-century. He made 48 off 105 balls including 4 fours and a six. Mohit Kale wasn’t able to contribute more than a run. Raghunath too fell soon. He top scored today making 166 ball 65 including 9 boundaries.
Wicketkeeper Akshay Wadkar was later accompanied by Aditya Sarwate. Sarwate made 18 runs. Wadkar completed his half-century off 96 balls including 9 boundaries. He is not out along with Akshay Karnewar who is playing on 15, at the end of day’s play. Vidarbha has put up 245/6 at the end of day 2.

For Rest of India, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja and Krishnappa Gowtham have picked up 2 wickets each. Ankit Rajpoot and Rahul Chahar have claimed a wicket each. As a result, the game is open on both the ends.
