The Indian Premier League 2019 auction is set for December 18 and left-handed batsman Yuvraj Singh might very well be scooped up by a franchise in search of an explosive batsman. However, Chennai Super Kings could very well be his destination, with the fans making vehement demand to franchise owner to sign him. The Indian all-rounder has set his base price at ₹ 1 crore.
With only a few days left for the latest edition of the IPL auction to unfold, fans on Twitter want Yuvraj Singh to join MS Dhoni in the CSK, a franchise that won the this year’s IPL trophy. The whole episode started on the CSK’s social media handle, when the franchise asked its fans a simple question: “Ahoy #WhistlePoduArmy, who’s that one Lion you badly wanna see in #yellow this summer?”
What followed was pleasantly surprising, with an overwhelming number of fans wanting Yuvraj Singh to be that one cricketer to feature in the current squad.
Here are some notable reactions :

This will be a welcoming sign for Yuvraj Singh, especially when this has not been a great year for him. The veteran all-rounder was first left out of Punjab state’s Ranji team. The 37-year-old was later released by IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab in the transfer window last month.
Nonetheless, Yuvraj Singh was shortlisted for the upcoming IPL auctions, with his base price set at ₹1 crore.
Yuvraj can be considered as an IPL veteran as well, having featured in all the season since its inception. In fact, he has gone on to don the jerseys of as many as 5 teams (KXIP, Pune Warriors, RCB, Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad before again returning back to KXIP in the 2018 IPL season.)
He also has a knack for being one of the highest gainers of the IPL auctions. Singh went for an overwhelming ₹14 crores in the 2014 season to RCB before switching sides to Delhi Daredevils, who bought him for a whopping ₹16 crores, a record at that time.
The Indian Premier League season will begin in March next year, with the first clash scheduled between the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings and runner-ups Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 29.
