The win was a consolation for LSG, but it also dealt a tough blow to GT&#8217;s hopes of finishing in the top two.</p>
<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">GT entered the match at the top of the points table with 18 points from 13 games. <p>Mitchell Marsh&#8217;s innings was crucial in a T20 century, while <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_Pooran">Nicholas Pooran</a> contributed to a strong finish with 96 runs in the last six overs. GT struggled early, losing their top three batsmen, but an 86-run partnership between Sherfane Rutherford and Shahrukh Khan helped them secure a win.</p>

<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">GT is known for their strong mid-order batting and proved why they have the highest strike rate in the league, even though their average isn’t great. In a critical chase, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherfane_Rutherford">Sherfane Rutherford</a> and Shahrukh turned up the heat, scoring 36 runs in the 14th and 15th overs against <a href="https://www.kreedon.com/avesh-khan-biography">Avesh Khan</a> and <a href="https://www.kreedon.com/shahbaz-ahmed-biography">Shahbaz Ahmed</a>. With only 54 runs needed from the last four overs and six wickets in hand, it looked like they had a real shot at winning. However, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_O%27Rourke_(cricketer)">Will O’Rourke</a> stepped up and changed the game with his impressive bowling.</p>
<p>In the 17th over, O’Rourke gave away just four runs and took out both Rutherford and Rahul Tewatia. This put GT under even more pressure, and they couldn&#8217;t manage a single boundary in those final four overs. Shahrukh, who had earlier raced to a fifty in just 22 balls, struggled to find his groove as the pressure mounted. Ultimately, LSG took control, and GT’s hopes of a win fell flat.</p>
<p>Even though GT is still at the top of the table, this loss could have serious consequences. With one match left for their competitors, their place in the top two is in jeopardy.</p>
