
<p>During the IPL 2025 match on Monday at the Ekana Stadium, a heated exchange took place between Digvesh Rathi, a spinner for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Abhishek Sharma, the opener for <a href="https://www.kreedon.com/ipl-2025-rain-washes-out-srh-vs-dc-seals-srhs-elimination">Sunrisers Hyderabad</a> (SRH). The drama unfolded in the eighth over when Rathi managed to dismiss Abhishek, who had been on fire with his batting. Rathi celebrated his wicket with his signature notebook gesture, which didn’t sit well with Abhishek.</p>



<p>It led to some heated words between the two, prompting the umpires to step in and calm things down. Thankfully, by match end, both players shook hands and chatted amicably, but<a href="https://www.kreedon.com/bcci-shortlists-rishabh-pant-and-shubman-gill-for-test-leadership"> BCCI</a> vice-president <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rajeev_Shukla">Rajeev Shukla</a> briefly interrupted their moment.</p>

<p>Even with the tension on the field, the game was all about Abhishek Sharma. His opening partner, <a href="https://www.kreedon.com/travis-head-stats-ipl-team-and-age-a-biography">Travis Head</a>, was sick and couldn&#8217;t play, but Abhishek Sharma stepped up spectacularly, scoring 59 runs off just 20 balls and hitting six massive sixes. His bold batting gave Hyderabad a great start in chasing 206 runs. <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinrich_Klaasen">Klaasen</a> and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamindu_Mendis">Kamindu Mendis</a> kept the energy going, and they clinched a six-wicket win, knocking LSG out of the playoffs. Although SRH was already out of the running, they played with determination and showed a lot of heart.</p>



<p>On a brighter note for LSG, Digvesh Rathi was a standout performer, even though the team had a tough time overall. This leg-spinner has been impressive in his first season and continues to take wickets despite the team&#8217;s struggles.</p>



<p>Unfortunately, out of IPL 2025&#8217;s race, LSG&#8217;s recent loss means they can’t make the playoffs, which is a big disappointment for them, especially with their high-profile captain, <a href="https://www.kreedon.com/bcci-shortlists-rishabh-pant-and-shubman-gill-for-test-leadership">Rishabh Pant</a>, who was bought for a record ₹27 crore but hasn’t produced the expected results. With two matches left, LSG will probably start thinking about how to rebuild for next season.</p>
