India’s cricket sensation and Gujarat Titans (GT) fast bowler, Mohammed Shami, expressed his views on Hardik Pandya‘s departure from the GT franchise to join the Mumbai Indians. Additionally, he discussed Shubman Gill, the newly appointed captain. The Mumbai Indians acquired Hardik through an all-cash trade, and shortly after, Shubman Gill was announced as the captain of Gujarat Titans. Gill’s captaincy makes him the youngest leader in the IPL for 2024. It’s worth noting that under Pandya’s leadership, GT secured the IPL championship in 2022 and reached the final in 2023. Shami, commenting on Hardik’s move to MI, emphasized the transient nature of players in the league, downplaying any significance attached to the trade.

Shubman Gill is set to lead a team in the IPL for the first time, and Shami reassured him that he shouldn’t be overly concerned. Shami emphasized that Gill has the capability to handle the dual responsibility of overseeing his own performance and managing other players on the team.
