Mumbai Indians cricketer Suryakumar Yadav missed a catch that resulted in his eye injury during the DC vs MI match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday.
The incident happened on the fourth ball of the 17th over of the DC innings when Jason Behrendorff bowled, and Axar Patel smashed it straight over the bowler’s head toward long-on. SKY got ready for the catch but lost the trajectory of the ball in the floodlights. It hit his fingers, and further hit just over his right eye. The ball ultimately went over the boundary for a six as Suryakumar Yadav fell, grabbing his face.

The MI physio hurried to check on the cricketer, and after a concussion test, he was taken off the field for further treatment. Although Axar completed his maiden fifty, he was eventually dismissed by Arshad Khan’s brilliant catch.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals registered 172 runs in 19.4 overs against Mumbai Indians. Delhi was struggling at 98/5 in 12.3 overs until Axar took the lead and scored 54 off 25 balls, hitting four fours and five sixes to reach his maiden IPL fifty. However, Mumbai Indians stole the show after clinching the victory by 6 wickets.
