IPL (Indian Premier League) revealed the 405 shortlisted cricketers on Tuesday for the forthcoming auction in Kochi scheduled on December 23. A total of 405 cricketers are shortlisted for the auction. Earlier, 369 players were shortlisted from the 991 cricketers who registered for the 2023 edition of the IPL. Later, the franchises appealed to include 36 more players. The appeal led to the addition of more players to the final list, making a total of 405 players for the IPL 2023 Auction.
Of the 405 players, 273 are Indian cricketers, 132 are overseas cricketers, and four are from associate nations. Moreover, there are 119 capped international players out of the 405 players, and 282 are uncapped players.
Of the 132 overseas players, 27 are from England, that includes Ben Stokes and Joe Root. Australian all-rounder Cameroon Green is on the list of the 21 players from Australia. 22 players are from South Africa, and 20 players are from West Indies. Meanwhile, 10 players are from New Zealand, and 8 cricketers are from Afghanistan.
From the list of 405 players, only 87 cricketers will get a chance to participate in IPL 2023. Of which the overseas players will take 30 spots.
All-rounders Sam Curran, Stokes, and Green can become the highest-earning players at this edition’s tournament. They are listed in the second set of the bidding process. Meanwhile, Indian batsman Mayank Agarwal and England cricketer Joe Root’s names are on the first set.

The auction for the 16th season of the IPL (Indian Premier League) will commence on December 23 at 2:30 PM IST.
