The 14th season of IPL 2021, begins on April 9. All the teams, franchises, and players are excited for the biggest cricketing tournament. But due to Covid-19, teams have to follow strict protocols. Also, the matches will be played behind closed doors, as said by BCCI. Many teams are affected due to the strict protocols, majorly because of the unavailability of many international and domestic players due to injuries, bilateral series or willfully dropping out of the tournament due to strict bio-bubbles.
In the initial stage of the IPL season 2021, some big names like Jofra Archer and Kagiso Rabada will not be present. Their absence offers a chance for youngsters to impress.
Pakistan is touring South Africa in the 1st week of April. All the big players of the South African team are part of the ODI series. The last match of the ODI series is on 7th April. All the South African players, part of the IPL, will depart from Centurion to India after the series. The team of Delhi Capitals is hardest hit by this. Their lead bowlers, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje will not be available for the first three-four matches.
Shreyas Iyer’s shoulder injury ruled him out of the IPL 2021. Young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant will be leading the side of Delhi Capital in IPL 2021.
Chennai Super Kings
CSK will be missing some main bowlers in the initial stage of the season. Lungi Ngidi will join the side only after S.A vs Pakistan series. He will be missing the first 3-4 matches.
On the availability of Ravindra Jadeja, a big question mark has been maintained yet. He has been out of action because of a thumb injury which he acquired in the Test series vs Australia in January.
CEO of team CSK, Kasi Viswanathan said, “We really don’t know when Jadeja will be joining us. He has to be released by the National Cricket Academy (NCA).”
Jofra Archer, the Player of the tournament of IPL season 2020, will miss the first 3-4 matches of the season. The South African pacer has undergone surgery to remove a fragment of glass from his right-hand’s middle finger. Only after 2 weeks of rehabilitation, he will be able to join the side.
A glass fragment was found lodged in Jofra Archer's right middle finger after operation.https://t.co/BDQInmlHPw

Adam Zampa (Australian spinner) is getting married, thus he will not be a part of the RCB squad at the beginning of the season. Mike Hesson, Director of Cricket, RCB, confirmed the news.
“Adam is getting married. It’s an important time for him and his family. It is something we are aware of. We respect and hope Zampa has a great time. When he joins the team once again he is going to be fresh. He will definitely deliver a massive contribution to the team in the rest of the tournament,” Hesson said.
Mitchell Marsh will not be part of the Hyderabad team. He has expressed his inability to spend long times inside the bio-bubble.
Quinton de Kock (Wicketkeeper and opening batsman) will be joining the M.I squad only after the first 4 matches due to national duties.
Have a happy IPL to all the teams, players, franchise, and fans.
