Royal Challengers Bangalore are all set to prepare for the Indian Premier League 2019 (IPL 2019) with a five-day conditioning camp. This camp shall take place under the guidance of chief coach Gary Kirsten and bowling coach Ashish Nehra.
The camp began on Sunday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
The eight of RCB’s domestic players had primarily joined the camp. These include Ranji Trophy’s top run-getter Milind Kumar, Prayas Ray Burman – who hogged limelight after picking 11 wickets in Vijay Hazare Trophy, and Shivam Dube, the one grabbed by RCB in IPL auction 2019 for whopping Rs 5 crore.
Eight players have already joined the camp including Uttar Pradesh captain Akshdeep Nath, Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dube, talented Delhi batsman Himmat Singh and seamer Kulwant Khejroliya.
Tamil Nadu’s Washington Sundar and Devdutt Paddikal from Karnataka have also joined the camp.
Yo-yo test at the conditioning camp for RCB players
The camp is supposed to be a pre-training and conditioning regime for players for the upcoming tournament.
It will focus on arduous fitness drills for conditioning the players along with a yo-yo test under the guidance of their trainers A I Harsha, Evan Speechly and Shravan Kumbagowdana, RCB press note said.
The two coaches, Kirsten and Nehra will be monitoring the progress of the players and a Yo-Yo test will give them an idea of their fitness.-- Advertisement --

The 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be held in India from March 23.
RCB will be keen on ending their title drought in the upcoming season. It will be interesting to see if India’s World Cup probables, including captain Virat Kohli, are available for the whole of the 12th season.
