The Match 15 of the VIVO Indian Premier League 2019 will see Mumbai Indians welcome defending champions Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium. Mumbai Indians didn’t have a good time in their last match – an 8-wicket defeat at the hands of Kings XI Punjab. CSK, on the other hand, have been unbeaten in 2019, winning all the three matches on the trot.
Whatever the form, the Wednesday’s match promises to be a high voltage one with two of IPL’s biggest and the most successful teams clashing against each other. Let the rivalry begin!

MI vs CSK Preview
Wednesday’s contest between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings is an event you can hardly manage to miss. These are two of the most consistent performers in the IPL in its 11-year history. Although CSK has been the dominant force in the league, Mumbai Indians have the last laugh when it comes to head-to-head records. Of the 26 times the two have played, MI have won on 14 occasions.
However, Mumbai is not in their best form going into the epic clash. They have won only one of the last three matches. Their batting lineup has failed to stick around the crease for long. They have lost a combined total of 25 wickets in the last three matches. Although Quinton de Kock has been in sublime form, the same cannot be said about Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard. The latter, especially, has failed to live up to his past performances and it is high time the West Indian be given some rest.
Their bowling has been struggling as well. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, rest of the bowlers have failed to pick up enough wickets. If they are to salvage anything from Wednesday’s match, MI will have to shore up on both the fronts.
Chennai Super Kings couldn’t have asked for better timing to meet MI. They have on a three-match winning streak. But it is the way they are demolishing teams that is the most impressive thing about them. CSK utterly embarrassed RCB on IPL opening day before winning by 6-wickets against DC. Although the last match against RR was a close affair, Chennai effectively used their vast experience to scamper up a 6-run win.
The team would mostly be same with a Harbhajan Singh possibly replacing Mitchell Santner. With figures of 0/26 from two overs, the latter was CSK’s most expensive bowler of the night against the Royals. Deepak Chahar (2/19) and Shardul Thakur (2/42) was impressive although one wonders when Mohit Sharma would be handed a chance. Could it be this match?
CSK, hands down. They are better in all aspects – momentum, squad balance and depth. Nonetheless, MI have the home advantage and on their day, they can beat even the best teams in the world.
MI vs CSK Dream11 Hint
Considering it is a batting pitch, choosing hard-hitting batsman would be advised. Among others, Suresh Raina (699) and MS Dhoni (576) have a brilliant record against MI. Among the bowlers, choosing Dwayne Bravo and Lasith Malinga would just do the trick. Lastly, if at all he is playing, Harbhajan would be a smart pick.
He knows the Wankhede pitch like the back of his hand, having spent a decade playing for Mumbai Indians. Rayudu would be another such player.
