KXIP vs RR Preview
Kings XI Punjab had a glorious chance of bolstering their chances of making it to the Play off. However, they failed to overcome 8th placed Royal Challengers Bangalore. Their biggest shortcoming in the disappointing defeat was an underperforming batting lineup. While Chris Gayle (99*) kept on fighting on one side, he didn’t ample support on the other.
KL Rahul (18), Mayank Agarwal (15), Sarfaraz Khan (15), and Sam Curran (1) all failed to capitalize on the home advantage. The total could have easily passed the 200-run mark. The bowlers then failed to dismiss Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers at the right time.

Rajasthan Royals had a successful outing at Wankhede, having successfully chased down a stiff target of 188 runs. They were thankful to Jos Buttler, again, for bailing them out of a sticky situation again. The English wicket-keeper’s timely knock of 89 runs, along with Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson’s 37 and 31, was enough to complete the shocking victory over MI.
However, the one thing that RR can improve is their middle-order. The Royals almost lost the match having lost four wickets in the space of just 1.5 overs late in the contest. Had it not been for Shreyas Gopal’s sensible 13, things could have been different for RR.
Mumbai will rue 2 dropped catches towards the end. Fine win for Rajasthan, but after the delight and relief must ask why they made it so difficult for themselves? When target could conceivably be reached in singles, why try and hit every ball for 4? Poor thinking

Predicted Winner
KXIP will be the favourites to win this contest, considering squad depth and home advantage.

PCA Stadium will have plenty of runs, and wickets. Thus, choosing a balanced squad (4 batsmen, 2 all-rounders, 4 bowlers) makes sense. Chasing teams have a high chances of winning the contest, so choose maximum players from the team batting second.
