KXIP vs RR Preview
Having seen an impressive start to the season wane away, Kings XI Punjab would be looking to give their all to make it to the IPL playoffs. The team from the north has won only once in the past 6 occasions, rendering them struggling at the 7th position. Although they are not out the contention for the top 4 place, KXIP will have to win their last two games with a respectable NRR. However, it is easier said than done, considering the final two encounters will be against KKR and CSK. Nonetheless, the one positive that the team can take away the tough fixtures is that both are at the home stadium in Mohali – where they won all the 5 matches they have played.
Kolkata Knight Riders also face a similar, do-or-die situation on Friday. The team finally managed to arrest their abysmal losing streak that of six games with a win over Mumbai Indians. After having faced a breakdown in the middle order for quite some time, the management twitched things in the batting lineup and things actually worked. For starters, the promotion of Shubman Gill in the opening slot besides Chris Lynn worked wonders as the duo posted 96 runs in total. The decision of bringing Andre Russell as early as one down was another masterstroke as the giant West Indian scored a massive 80* off just 40 balls to help the home team post a massive total of 232.
There should be a statutory warning when #AndreRussell is batting. "These actions are carried out by a Russell and viewers are warned not to try them"

The bowlers could have been done better in the second innings in stopping Hardik Pandya, who almost scared the home side by scoring 91 runs. But, on the whole it was an encouraging performance from the unit. They will be hoping to repeat the same performance on Friday.
This is one of the toughest prediction to make. Here are both equally capable teams with same points and in dire need of 2 crucial points. On one hand, while KXIP have not lost a single game at their fortress in Mohali, KKR have the momentum with them to win the game. It will, thus, make for an enthralling and close contest.
But then, if we have to put our money on one team for the sake of it, Kolkata Knight Riders will be our team.
PCA Stadium will have plenty of runs, and wickets. Thus, choosing a balanced squad (4 batsmen, 2 all-rounders, 4 bowlers) makes sense. Try to have a mix of spinners and pacers. Openers will have a huge role to play with spinners not around at the start. Choosing a couple of them would be a smart move.
