Indian Premier League‘s Match 26 saw Delhi Capitals defeat Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets in their own backyard, for the second consecutive time. Making all the right impressions just before the announcement of the World Cup squad, Shikhar Dhawan hit a brilliant 97* to help DC move up to the fourth spot. Although he would be saddened to not have reached his century, it will, nevertheless, a boost for his team’s chances of making it to the Playoffs.

Earlier in the evening, Shubman Gill scored a brilliantly timed 65 off just 39 balls. His knock, followed by Andre Russell’s 45 (from 21 balls) saw KKR finish at 179/7. However, that was not enough on a batting pitch like that at the Eden Gardens and against a batting unit like that of DC.
However, in spite of the victory, DC fans were not convinced about Colin Ingram hitting the winning runs with Dhawan still on 97*:

Keeps seeing Ingram's winning run. Can I please sleep now? Wth, Colin Ingram ruined my day. Didn't knew he was so good in hitting six, couldn't he have done that during other matches as well? #KKRvDC

What an inning by Shikhar Dhawan. Match winning 97* off 63 balls. Deserved a century. Good to see him back in touch just before the World Cup. ??#DCvKKR #KKRvDC pic.twitter.com/CAQRdFSRzG
