Barman made his debut for the senior side earlier this year in Vijay Hazare Trophy and impressed by scalping 11 wickets in nine games at an economy rate of 4.45. His most imposing effort came against Jammu & Kashmir, where he bagged four wickets and gave away just 20 runs to lead his team to a convincing six-wicket victory.
Barman will be joining the RCB camps that includes players like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. RCB also brought in uncapped Shivam Dube for Rs 5 crore at the 2019 IPL Player Auction.
The young prodigy, whose signing baffled the fans, will garner a lot of attention when the tournament commences in March 2019.
The young lad realizes the challenges that lie ahead of him. Speaking to TOI he said, “Many players have lost their way after being roped in for big amounts of money in the players’ auctions. My focus will be to try and live up to the standard of IPL cricket. I do not want to get lost.”

Meanwhile, Kings XI picks up a couple of unheralded players in Harpreet Brar & Agnivesh Ayachi for base price (₹20L). yuvraj Singh who had previously gone unsold in the first-round was roped in by Mumbai Indians for a price of 1.5 crores.
