On June 21, 2015, the inaugural International Day of Yoga was celebrated globally. In India, the Ministry of AYUSH took charge of organizing the necessary arrangements. The grand event took place at Rajpath in New Delhi. A remarkable gathering of 35,985 individuals, including Prime Minister Modi and esteemed representatives from 84 nations, came together. Demonstrating their dedication, they performed 21 different asanas (yoga postures) for a duration of 35 minutes. This monumental yoga session set a world record for the largest yoga class ever held, with the participation of 84 nations, the highest number recorded to date. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead a distinctive yoga session at the UN Headquarters on Wednesday (21 Jue 2023) to mark the 9th International Day of Yoga.
