Victory March: India’s DOTA 2 Team Beats South Asian Nations, Marches Toward Asian C’ship

In an exuberant display of skill and determination, Team India (DOTA 2) emerged victorious over Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal in the South Asian qualifiers. Their brilliant performance secured them a coveted spot in the Asian Championships LAN Finals, which will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from July 10-17, 2023.

Led by the formidable lineup of skipper Manav Kunte (mnz), Vishal Vernekar (HBK), Abhishek Yadav (Abhi-), Shahbaz Hussain (PinkMaN), Krish Gupta (Krish`), and substitute Jaikishan Malik (KaEL), the star-studded Team India made a stunning start in the competition. They effortlessly defeated Pakistan by a resounding 54-12 and Sri Lanka by a commanding 39-14 on the opening day. On Day 2, they continued their dominant run, triumphing over Nepal by 47-24 and Bangladesh by 40-16 in the best-of-one matches.

India DOTA 2 Team demonstrated their exceptional skills in an exhilarating battle against Nepal during the best-of-three finals. With convincing victories in the first two rounds, securing scores of 34-27 and 36-34, they emerged as the undisputed champions of the South Asian qualifiers.

Expressing his feelings after securing the qualification, team skipper Manav Kunte stated,

 “We came into the South Asian qualifiers with the goal of proving ourselves in the region and we are proud to have achieved that. Defeating all the teams from the region with stunning performances and securing our spot in the Asian Championship is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and unity of our team. We are now ready to face the best teams in Asia, and earn the spot to represent India at the 15th World Esports Championships.”

Now, they are set to face off against formidable DOTA 2 teams including Kyrgyzstan, Philippines, Mongolia, Australia, Jordan, Myanmar, and Saudi Arabia in a bid to secure their spot in the highly anticipated 15th World Esports Championships (WEC) taking place in Iasi from August 24 to September 4, 2023.

India’s popular Tekken 7 professional, Abhinav Tejan, and eFootball athlete, Ibrahim Gulrez, have successfully secured their qualification for the highly anticipated 15th World Esports Championships (WEC). This prestigious event boasts an impressive prize pool of $500,000 (INR 4.12 crore).
