1. Mithali Raj

Mithali has been the mainstay of the batting line-up since the retirement of Purnima Rau. And not only has she handled the workload admirably, but she has also led the team on many auspicious occasion.

At 19 she entered the limelight when she scored a magnificent 214 against England at Taunton. A more-than-handy legspinner, Raj adds a dash of variety to India’s bowling attack. She was instrumental in securing the side’s first ever Test series victory in England in August 2006 and followed it up by leading the eves to four straight Asia Cup titles – the last one in 2008. A bad tour of England made her lose the captaincy to Jhulan Goswami, but she regained it later.

She has scored 7 consecutive 50s in ODIs and is the first player to do so. Raj also holds the record for most of the half-centuries in WODIs. During the 2018 Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup, Mithali Raj became the first player from India to score 2000 runs in T20Is and also set the milestone for becoming the first woman cricketer to reach 2000 T20I runs.

2. Purnima Rau

The former cricketer from Hyderabad, Purnima Rau was one of the first Indian women players to try and take advantage of the 15-over field restrictions.
A middle-order batswoman who also doubled as an opener in her later years, Rau was one of the most capable wielders of the willow and respected by many of her juniors. The likes of Anjum Chopra, Mithali Raj, and Anju Jain benefited from playing with her. She was also a useful off-break bowler, used to break threatening partnerships or break the flow of runs.
In 3 Test matches and 8 ODI matches, she captained the Indian team.

She plays as an all-rounder, she played most of her ODI innings in the middle order and bowled right arm off-spin. Presently, she is a coach affiliated with the development of youth and women’s cricketers in Hyderabad. Purnima Rau was the coach for Indian women’s cricket team. She was relieved from her duties of coach of India Women’s cricket team by BCCI in April 2017

3. Jhulan Goswami

Jhulan Goswami the cricketer from Bengal happens to be one of the most vicious competitors women’s cricket has ever seen.
She won the M.A. Chidambaram trophy for Best Women Cricketer in 2011  and the ICC Women’s Player of the Year 2007. She is succeeded by Mithali Raj. Jhulan is first in ICC Women’s ODI bowling rankings(January 2016). Jhulan is the leading wicket-taker (200) in the history of women ODI cricket.
Also, she was the fastest playing bowler in world women cricket after Cathryn Fitzpatrick retired.

In Women’s One Day International cricket she is known to be the highest wicket taker. In February 2018, she became the first bowler to take 200 wickets in WODIs which was against South Africa,. She achieved this by taking the wicket of South Africa opener Laura Wolvaardt during the second one-day game of the three-match series at Kimberley. In April 2018, she had an Indian postage stamp issued in her honor.

Diana Edulji is a former Indian women’s Test cricketer. She has the most number of balls by any woman cricketer in Women’s test history(5098+) and holds a record for this.

Diana received India’s then greatest sports honor award, the Arjuna Award in 1983. She was  by The Government of India, in 2002, awarded her the pretigious civilian honor of Padma Shri . Diana has a great dedication towards this game as she lost her four front teeth while playing yet she kept playing. She is said to be the greatest Indian woman cricketer of all time.

5. Anjum Chopra

Anjum is a left-handed batswoman who bowls right-arm medium-fast. Has played in 12 Tests and 116 ODIs. Had been coached by Sunita Sharma, Hardeep Dua, and Tarak Sinha.
She has begun to be known as the face of women’s cricket in India as a player, captain, consultant, motivational speaker, author, and actor.
In only her second series for India the same year, she was awarded player of the series in the one-day internationals against the visiting England cricket team, scoring runs at an average of 67.5.
