The 12th season of Indian Premier League (IPL) is on the horizon, with the early fillers starting to come out. The IPL auctions were concluded late last year with teams spending crores of rupees to get the player of their dreams. Here are the top 3 IPL records that would most probably be broken in the competition’s 2019 edition:
7First Indian to hit 200 Sixes

Rohit Sharma has been a solid performer for Mumbai Indians, both as a batsman and a captain. On the international front, he has broken many records. This includes the highest ODI run-scorer in the world along with being the first Indian to score a T20 century.

However, Sharma has a golden opportunity of adding another feather to his cap in IPL. The unique record is of becoming the first Indian batsman to score 200 sixes. At the moment, he has 184 sixes to name and needs only 16 more of the big hits to reach the feat.
6Suresh Raina to Surpass the 5,000 Run Mark

Talking about CSK’s iconic players, one can rarely forget T20-specialist and star batsman Suresh Raina. Along with Dhoni, the veteran batsman formed a formidable middle-order partnership to help Chennai win crucial matches. What more is that Raina went on to become IPL’s highest run scorer ever.
The 32-year-old can write another record to his name by becoming the first batsman to cross the 5,000 run-mark. Raina is just 15 runs away from achieving the feat, as his tally stands at 4,985 runs. His immediate competitor for the feat is Virat Kohli, who has scored 4,948 runs.

Over the years, Dhoni has guided the team to a record number of IPL titles (3). However, he can add a new record to his kitty in 2019 – by becoming the first captain to lead the team to 100 victories.

MSD has 94 wins as a captain in IPL in his stint as a captain at CSK and Pune SuperGiants. Considering the reigning champion’s form, it will not take much time to achieve the feat.
