Proud Moment! Indian Archers Clinched Five Gold, Three Silver, One Bronze in Asia Cup

The Indian junior archers produced a stellar show in the Asia Cup Stage III by grabbing nine medals, including five gold in Sharjah on Sunday.

The biggest medal haul came from the compound section where Indian archers clinched seven of the eight medals which includes a clean sweep in the individual women’s section where Pragati, Aditi Swami, and Parneet Kaur finished top three spots. Archers, Priyansh and Ojas Deotale secured gold and silver in the compound individual section.

The Indian compound archers also finished on top in the team events (both men’s and women’s). India returned empty-handed only in the compound mixed pair event as the Indian duo of Ojas and Pragati got defeated in the quarterfinals.

India clinched one gold and one silver medal in recurve section. Akash Mrinal Chauhan and Parth Salunkhe in the men’s team won the gold defeating Korea.

On the other hand, in recurve mixed team event, Tisha Punia and Salunkhe settled for a silver after losing to Kai-Han Yang and Szu-Min Su of Chinese Taipei. So overall, India settled with five gold, three silvers, and one bronze.
