The Men in Blue’s chance of going to the top of the ICC World Cup 2019 was marred by the rain Gods as India vs New Zealand match was abandoned without a single ball bowled.
As a resultant both the teams were handed a point each in the aftermath. This was the fourth such instance where a match was abandoned after the onset of heavy rains.
It also means that both India and New Zealand both have a golden opportunity of remaining unbeaten in the group stage, the first time such a thing will happen in the World Cup.
At the moment, New Zealand top the table with 7 points from 3 games, while Australia come in at the second spot with 6 points. India are third with 5 points.
