India vs West Indies 1st T20: Head to Head, Squad Update, Live Broadcast

Having thrashed West Indies 3-0 in the T20I series followed by a 2-0 victory in the ODI series in August, India will again welcome the Caribbeans for three T20Is and as many ODIs in what will be the last outing of their home campaign.

Winners of the 2016 T20 World Cup, West Indies look like a shadow of their supreme past in the shortest format of the game. Their record this year has not been impressive, with a sole victory to show for in the nine T20I matches they have played.

The sole win came against minnows Afghanistan.  The team has been whitewashed by the England and India while losing another series 2-1 to Afghanistan last month.

This dip in performance, however, was expected with the young team adapting to the departure of T20I greats like Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo.

Head to Head

India 8-5 West Indies (No result: 1)

Virat Kohli-led India have been impeccable against West Indies, winning each of their last 6 T20I matches. WI’s last victory came way back in July 2017 at Kingston.

India are also way ahead in terms of win percentage. Ever since June 2016, the reigning T20I champions have a win percentage of just 30.77, the second-lowest among ICC’s members.

India’s win percentage of 64.00, on the other hand, is the third-highest in the table.
