The intense encounter between the third-ranked India and fourth-ranked Netherlands lived up to its Quarter Final status. The Indian team showcased impressive character as they secured their place in the Semi-Finals. They are scheduled to face Germany on December 14. The Netherlands took an early lead in the first quarter with Timo Boers (5′) converting a penalty corner. Despite India’s solid defensive efforts, Pepijn van der Heijden (16′) extended the Netherlands’ lead to 2-0 through another penalty corner conversion by halftime.

India mounted a robust comeback in the third quarter, securing a goal at the 34th minute courtesy of Aditya Lalage, assisted by Araijeet Singh Hundal. Shortly after, Araijeet leveled the score for India with a successful penalty stroke. Despite India’s persistent offensive efforts, the Dutch team secured a penalty corner late in the third quarter. Olivier Hortensius converted the penalty at the 44th minute. This goal allowed the Dutch to claim a slender one-goal lead by the conclusion of the third quarter.
The triumph of the Indian junior team was fueled by a remarkable display of resilience in resisting pressure from the Dutch squad. The focal point of India’s defensive prowess was Rohit. He proved to be an impenetrable force by thwarting six consecutive penalty corners in the final quarter. Ultimately, it resulted in India’s victory. In recognition of his outstanding performance, Rohit was honored as the player of the match.
