India A head coach and National Cricket Academy (NCA) batting coach, Sitanshu Kotak, will assume the position of head coach for Indian team during the upcoming T20I series against Ireland. With a prolific background in domestic cricket, Kotak’s expertise within the NCA coaching team has paved the way for his leadership in the forthcoming three T20Is.
VVS Laxman, who was initially anticipated to accompany the team, will instead oversee the ongoing Emerging camp in Bengaluru. The regular coaching staff, including Rahul Dravid (head coach), Vikram Rathour (batting coach), and Paras Mhambrey (bowling coach), have been granted a hiatus due to the demanding schedule involving the Asia Cup, ODI series versus Australia, and the impending World Cup on home soil.
Currently in the United States for the final two T20Is against West Indies, the coaching team will rejoin the squad for Asia Cup preparations later this month. India is set to engage in a high-stakes clash against Ireland, participating in three T20Is scheduled in Dublin on August 18, 20, and 23. All eyes will be on Jasprit Bumrah, making his anticipated return after a hiatus since September last year, as he seeks valuable match exposure ahead of the forthcoming Asia Cup and World Cup.
