Team India has been getting applauds from all corners after their spectacular performance against Australia Down Under. The Indian Test team rewrote the history books when they became the first ever Asian team to win a Test series against Australia in their own backyard. The four-match Test series ended 2-1 in favour of Virat Kohli and team. They won Test matches in Adelaide and Melbourne to seal their first series win in Australia.

The Indians played fearless cricket in Australia and always looked to get a result. India would perhaps have increased the margin of victory in the series had rain and bad light not stopped play on Day 4 and 5 of the fourth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. But still the brand of cricket the Indians played Down Under has been hailed by the cricketing fraternity.

Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has also hailed the Indian cricket team for their victory in Australia. Tendulkar said that the brand of cricket played in Australia was outstanding.

“The team has done really well. The brand of cricket in Australia has been magnificent,” said Tendulkar.

Sachin also commented on how these types of victories can inspire youngsters. “Talking about inspiring the younger generation, you want heroes in life and without realising these guys have become heroes of next generation. There is more awareness of diet, training method and accessibility to information that they want. The infrastructure is really good and one should be happy but never be satisfied.”

Sachin also praised the Indian fast bowlers who have been spectacular in the series Down Under. They were instrumental in India’s victory against Australia after picking up 50 wickets in the series. The pace bowling unit is one of the most feared in the world after continuously impressing in overseas conditions. He also added that they can be competitive in any kind of conditions.

“We have some quality fast bowlers. This lot is very talented. We are a competitive attack in any part of the world.” Sachin concluded.

India will now play in three-match One Day Internationals (ODI) series against Australia that starts from 12 January. MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Kedar Jadhav and Shikhar Dhawan have joined up with the squad for the series.
