India vs Australia Preview

Australia will begin their tour of India with the first T20I which will be played at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy stadium, Visakhapatnam on February 24.

The series provides a golden revenge opportunity for the Kangaroos, having endured a humiliating Test and ODI defeats at the hands of India back home. The Men in Blue first drew the T20I series 1-1 before clinching the Test series by 2-1. They almost won the fourth Test had the rain Gods not intervened.

As if that was not enough, the visitors inflicted further misery by winning the ODI series 2-1, rounding off a perfect tour. As a result, the Aussies would be hoping to reverse the result in their favour this time around.

The visitors, however, would be heartened with their gain of momentum after the infamous series loss against India.

The team crushed the Sri Lankans 2-0 in Test series, offering some much-needed relief to the Australian side.

As for India, it will be a tricky tie. Even though they will be playing in familiar conditions this time around, they should least underestimate their rejuvenated opponents. This is a mistake they did against New Zealand after winning the first three ODI matches and had to witness a defeat in the next ODI apart from a T20 series loss. What was painful was the manner in which they lost in the fourth ODI, capitulating for 92 in the first innings.

The series is crucial for both the sides from the World Cup point of view. In fact, it will be their last white-ball series before the cricketing extravaganza begins in May.

As a result, the duo will look forward to fine-tuning their squads and play well in what is the final dress rehearsal.
