India Open 2023: Saina Nehwal advances, Sindhu suffered 1st round exit | Checkout Highlights

India Open 2023: India ace shuttler, PV Sindhu has been knocked out of the tournament after losing in the opening round on Tuesday. Sindhu suffered a loss to Thailand’s Supanida Katethong in straight games by 14-21, 20-22. On the other hand, Saina Nehwal produced a tremendous show in the first round of the India Open Super 750 badminton tournament.

Nehwal outsmarted world No. 24 Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark to win the first round of the India Open by 21-17, 12-21, 21-19 in New Delhi.

In another game, star Indian shuttlers Lakshya Sen and HS Prannoy locked horns, where Lakshya beat Prannoy in a straight game. The match lasted for 45 minutes, where Lakshya prevailed over Prannoy with a scoreline of 21-14, 21-15.

Defending men’s doubles champion pair Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy began their campaign with an easy win over Scotland’s Christopher Grimley and Mathew Grimley 21-13, 21-15 in the opening-round of India Open 2023.
