On Friday, two girls’ singles players and one girls’ doubles pair from India were eliminated in the round of 16 in the Badminton Asia Junior Championships in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Taneesha and Karnika battled the Chinese pair of Chen Fan Shu Tian and Jiang Pei Xi in the pre-quarterfinal round of the girls’ doubles division.
The Indian duo got out to a fast start, displaying superb coordination, and won the first match 21-17. However, their rivals produced a comeback in the next two games, eventually winning 21-17, 13-21, 13-21 in a 50-minute encounter.
Huang Lin Ran of China competed against Rakshitha Sree S in the girls’ singles round of 16 round. The Indian shuttler got off to a good start. She battled to keep up a steady pace the whole match and ultimately fell 15-21, 13-21.
Tara Shah lost to China’s XU Wen Jing in a girls’ singles pre-quarterfinal encounter by scores of 13-21, 8-21. Because she was unable to generate any momentum.
