India beat Pakistan in Asian hockey championship 2021

India beat Pakistan in the Asian hockey championship in Dhaka. Defeating Pakistan by 4-3 India won the Bronze medal in the Asian Champions trophy 2021. Goals scored by Harmanpreet Singh, Sumit, Varun Kumar, and Aakashdeep Singh helped India to achieve the target.

Maintaining the record against Pakistan, India secured 3rd place in the Asian Champions Trophy in the neck-to-neck match.

After the match both the captains speak about their game. Umar Bhutta said the lack of experience in finishing a game resulted in a defeat against India. The Indian skipper Manpreet Singh who was also awarded as the Man Of The Match said the team efforts made them win.

For the second time, India faced Pakistan in the Asian Champions Trophy 2021 at Dhaka’s Moulana Bhasani National Stadium. Earlier in the league, India had defeated Pakistan by 3-1 and finished becoming the top in the point table.

It would be the perfect finale with India against Pakistan but the semifinals showed some other results.

Japan defeated India by 5-3 points in the semifinals and India moved ahead to play for the Bronze against Pakistan.

In the semifianl match, the defence of India was not up to the mark. This lead Japan to hit 2 quick goals in the first quarter. India, however, scored 2 goals in the final quarter but the Japan team ended deserving winners.

South Korea defeated Pakistan in the semifinal

Pakistan too lost their semi-final against South Korea in a thrilling match which ended 6-5. A goal by South Korea in the final seconds of the match sealed the fate of the Green Machines

India’s Harmanpreet Singh and Dilpreet Singh are among the top goal scorers of the tournament with 7 and 5 goals respectively.

Korean Jonghyun Jang is the top goal scorer of the tournament with 8 goals.
