India A dominate on Day 1 of the second 4-day match in Mysore against England Lions. Openers KL Rahul and Abhimanyu Easwaran put up a brilliant 178 run stand to frustrate the tourists as India notch 282/3 at the end of day’s play.
India A Captain KL Rahul was suspended from the Australia and New Zealand limited overs fixtures after his and his Indian teammate Hardik Pandya’s controversial remarks on Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee with Karan.
He also didn’t live up to expectations in the limited overs series against England Lions but the stylish right-handed opener found form today, his decisions were spot on, right from the toss.
Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first. He along with Bengal’s Abhimanyu Easwaran put up a brilliant 178 run opening stand. Rahul who had put behind his poor form with an 89 in Wayanad in the first game, once again got into the 80s. He missed a ton narrowly. He made a 166 ball 81 which included 11 exquisite boundaries.

He made 50 off 88 balls including 7 boundaries. At the end of day’s play, India A have put up a solid 282/3 with Karun Nair not out on 14. For the England Lions, it was a hard working day on the field, Zack Chapel, Tom Bailey and Dominic Bess picked up a wicket each.
On Day 2, India A will look to put a big total on the board which won’t be at the grasp of the Lions while the Lions will look to take quick wickets.
