In his initial three T20I appearances against the West Indies, emerging Indian batsman Tilak Varma has achieved a remarkable introduction to international cricket by amassing a total of 139 runs. With the ongoing T20I series reaching its conclusion in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, this weekend, there is an opportunity for Tilak Varma to establish a significant achievement that currently belongs to ex-Indian captain Virat Kohli. In a five-match T20I series against England during the 2020-21 season, Kohli set the Indian batting record for the highest runs, amassing 231 runs and securing three half-centuries. The matches will be pivotal for Varma to potentially surpass this remarkable feat.

Mumbai Indians’ batsman, Tilak Varma, requires just 93 runs across the remaining two T20I matches to surpass Kohli’s fourth-highest total in the history of T20I cricket. KL Rahul holds the fifth position with his achievement of scoring 224 runs during the 2019-20 series against New Zealand.

The highest number of runs scored in a five-match T20I series is credited to Mark Chapman from New Zealand. He achieved this feat by accumulating 290 runs during the 2022-23 series against Pakistan. In the second position is Quinton de Kock from South Africa, who managed to score 255 runs against West Indies in the 2020-21 series. Holding the third position is Paul Stirling from Ireland, who secured 234 runs against Zimbabwe in the 2021-22 series.
