Ind vs NZ Dream11 Prediction
India started their 2019 Cricket World Cup campaign in style with back to back victories over South Africa and Australia. The first one, an easy 6-wicket victory against an underperforming South African side was unsurprising. Yuzvendra Chahal (4/51) shone in the first innings, helping India bowl the Proteas out for 227 while Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 122* on the other to help chase the total.
However, it was the latter against Australia that took away everyone’s attention. The defending champions had looked to be the team to beat, having won in the first two games.
India started the first innings on a confident note, with Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma building a 100-run partnership. The former even went on to score a ton – his sixth in ICC events – to help India reach a competitive total of 352/5. The bowlers then executed their role to brilliance, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/50) and jasprit Bumrah (3/61) both staring in the second innings. The Kangaroos ultimately succumbed for 316/10, handing India a 36-run victory.
However, things may get a bit complicated for the Men in Blue here onwards, with injuries and challenging weather coming into picture. The serious injury to centurion Shikhar Dhawan complicates up the things for the Indians.
If indeed Dhawan is out for 3 weeks, India have a tough decision ahead of them. Do they seek a replacement, in which case he is out of the tournament (unless back as a replacement for another player) or do they back Shanker and Karthik to bat at 4 till he is fit again.

With his outster for at least two weeks, the management is expected to promote KL Rahul up to the opening slot. This may be harmful for the Indian team for two reasons. One, KL Rahul had looked to have settled in the fourth spot. Although he had starred in the position in the Indian Premier League, it remains to be seen how the Karnataka batsman adjusts to new role. Second, it again puts the doomed No.4 position back under scanner. Although Dinesh Karthik is expected to return, it remains to be seen how India handle this delicate situation.
While New Zealand have won the first three games against some relatively lower-ranked teams, Indian batsman would have to be vary of the Kiwi bowlers. The trio of Lockie Ferguson (8), Matt Henry (7), and James Neesham (6) have already taken 21 wickets between them. In fact, the first two are the competition’s leading wicket-takers at the moment. With the swing-conditions of Trent Bridge, it will be interesting to see how Indian batsmen reply with a slightly tweaked lineup.
India are the firm favourites to win his particular contest. They have looked excellent with the bat and clinical with the ball. Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (6) has shone in the opening games while pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are the force to reckon with.
Although New Zealand have won their opening three games, they have all come against lower ranked teams. We expect them to squander in their first real challenge in the ICC World Cup campaign.
Predicted Winner: India
The Trent Bridge is widely known as a Swinger’s paradise, with its dry, bouncy surface and exceptionally strong winds. With the glaring exception of Pakistan vs England match, the pitch has been a relatively low-scoring one. Thus, choosing a balanced team (1 WC, 4 Batsman, 2 All-rounder, 4 Bowlers) would be wise. Amongst batsmen, try to choose majority from the middle-order, since pacers with sway away the openers early in the innings. With plenty of wickets expected to fall, choosing between 4-5 pacers would be a great idea. One spinner would do the trick.
