ICC T20 rankings : Kuldeep Yadav Jumps to 2nd Spot, India Ranked Second

India’s in-form Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav was promoted to a his career-best second rank in the latest ICC T20 International rankings. India continues to maintain its second position behind Pakistan even after dropping two ranking points with a series loss against New  Zealand by 2-1.

When the Black Caps were blasting the Indian bowlers in the third and the final T20, Kuldeep Yadav emerged with amazing figures of two for 26. India lost the match thus the series by 2-1. Yadav’s spin bowling partner Yuzvendra Chahal is ranked 17th in the rankings while Indian fast bowling spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar is ranked 18th. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan is the top ranked  bowler in the shortest format of the game. Left arm spinner Krunal Pandya moved up 39 places. He is now at his career best 58th position.

Among batsmen, Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma swapped three places with another Indian batsman K. L. Rahul, who didn’t play in the recently concluded New Zealand series. Rohit Sharma is placed seventh while KL Rahul is tenth in the rankings.Rohit’s opening partner Shikhar Dhawan has gained a place and is now ranked 11th while captain Virat Kohli’s absence from the series affected his ranking. He has dropped four places to be joint 19 with Zimbabwe’s Hamilton Masakadza.The batting chart is headed by  Pakistani batsman Babar Azam.

In the team rankings, India ranks second while neighbouring Pakistan is at the top spot. South Africa, England, Australia and New Zealand follow India in the rankings.
