A number of awards were also announced for the I-League including those for Best Pitch, Best Match Organization, and Best Media Activities. Each category’s top award is worth Rs 2.5 lakh, while the runners-up receive Rs 1.5 lakh.

At the start of the IWL meeting, it was announced that Gokulam Kerala FC has received permission to take part in the 2023 AFC Women’s Club Championship (Pilot). The AIFF had formally requested the Asian body to consider them as participants in the upcoming edition, given their victory in the 2022-23 Indian Women’s League.

The upcoming 2023-24 women’s football league season will feature a two-tier structure. The IWL’s top tier will include eight teams competing in a home-and-away format. Meanwhile, the second division will comprise the remaining eight teams from the 2022-23 IWL season and the champions of various state leagues.
