Indian shuttler HS Prannoy has achieved a remarkable feat by climbing two spots to secure a career-best world no. 7 ranking in men’s singles, according to the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on Tuesday. Prannoy’s exceptional performance has earned him 66,147 points from 17 tournaments, establishing him as the top-ranked Indian singles player.

Following closely behind Prannoy is PV Sindhu, a double Olympic medallist, who has improved her ranking by one spot to reach the 11th position in women’s singles.
Meanwhile, Commonwealth Games bronze medallists Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand have also made strides in the rankings. They have risen two spots to claim the prestigious world number 15 ranking in women’s doubles, showcasing their remarkable teamwork and talent.
In men’s singles, Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth have exchanged their spots, with Sen climbing the 22nd spot and Srikanth slipping to the 23rd spot. Additionally, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who have been performing consistently well, slipped two places to seventh in men’s doubles.
While these Indian shuttlers have displayed exceptional skill and determination, it is noteworthy that no other Indian players have secured a position within the top 20 rankings.
