Ishan Kishan’s admiration for Dhoni was quite evident during a recent incident that went viral on social media. In that incident, a fan asked Ishan Kishan to sign on his mobile cover, but Kishan politely said when there is already the signature of Dhoni on the mobile cover, he can’t sign above Mahi Bhai’s signature as he has not reached the level of Dhoni yet.
The close relationship between MS Dhoni and Ishan Kishan is not new. Kishan who hails from Jharkhand, the hometown of Dhoni is termed as the next big thing from the State after Mahendra Singh Dhoni himself.
The respect for Dhoni among the current group of Indian players is immense. Many players including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been vocal about the close relationship between them and their skipper. Most of the young Indian players look upon Dhoni as their role model and try to learn as much as him.
A fan asked Ishan Kishan to sign for his photo cover but Kishan politely declined his request because there was already a signature of Dhoni on that cover. He said that when there is already the signature of Dhoni on the mobile cover, he can’t sign above Mahi Bhai’s signature as he has not reached the level of Dhoni yet. Saying this, he signed below the signature of Dhoni and returned the phone.
Kishan told the fan,
“Mahi bhai ka hai signature aur uske upar bol rahe hain mera karne…mereko thoda ho nahi raha hai (This is Mahi bhai’s signature and you are telling me to sign above it. I can’t do this.) Mahi bhai ka signature hai upar, abhi humlog utna pahunche nahi hai wahan par…neeche karta hun “I have not reached the level of MS Dhoni, I will sign in the bottom),”

Just like Dhoni, 24-year-old Ishan Kishan is destined for a great career ahead. The wicketkeeper-batsman took the world by storm after his whirlwind double-century in just 126 balls. He continued his merry form in the Ranji Trophy scoring a hundred for Jharkhand.
