Ever since Jay Shah opined that India won’t travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023, we have seen a battle of comments from the players of both sides, India & Pakistan. Ramiz Raja, the PCB chairman, responded to Jay Shah’s comments saying if the Indian players don’t come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, his team would not go to India for the ODI World Cup. The former India opener Gautam Gambhir has now reacted to Ramiz Raja’s comments and stated whatever decision is taken by the two boards, will be taken collectively.

Gambhir told ANI,

“This is the decision of BCCI and PCB. Whatever decision they take, they will take it together,”

Ramiz Raja had said on Urdu News that the Pakistan team won’t visit India for the ODI World Cup next year if the BCCI doesn’t send its team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023.

“If Pakistan doesn’t take part in the World Cup scheduled in India next year, who will watch it? We have a clear stand: If the Indian team comes here then we will go for the World Cup. If they don’t come, then they can play the World Cup without us. We will adopt an aggressive approach. Our team is showing performance. I’ve always said we need to improve the economy of Pakistan cricket, and that can only happen when we perform well. In the 2021 T20 World Cup, we beat India. We beat India in the T20 Asia Cup. In one year, the Pakistan cricket team defeated a billion-dollar economy team twice.”

The chances of the Indian cricket team touring Pakistan for the Asia Cup still look pretty slim.

According to former India batter Gautam Gambhir, Prithvi Shaw could be a future India captaincy candidate. Gambhir also chose Hardik Pandya as a future India captain. Hardik has already led India in the T20I series against New Zealand and the Indian team won the series 1-0 with his immense contribution.

Gambhir said,

“The reason I’ve picked Prithvi Shaw, is I know a lot of people talk about his off-field activities, but that is what the job of the coach and the selectors are. The selectors’ job isn’t just to pick the 15, but also to get people to walk the right path.”
“Prithvi Shaw is one I feel can be a very aggressive captain, a very successful captain because you see that aggression in the way a person plays the sport.”
