FIH Hockey5s World Cup: India achieved 5th Place Finish With 6-4 Win Over Egypt

The FIH Hockey5s Men’s World Cup witnessed an exhilarating match as the hockey team of India secured a 6-4 victory against Egypt, claiming a commendable finish. The goals for India were contributed by Mohammed Raheel (8′), Pawan Rajbhar (9′), Maninder Singh (10′, 23′), Mandeep Mor (11′), and Uttam Singh (13′). On the other hand, Egypt’s captain Amr Sayed (14′, 19′), Mostafa Ragab (23′), and Karim Atef (24′) successfully found the net for their team.

Right from the start, India asserted dominance, with early goals from Mohammed Raheel and Pawan Rajbhar establishing a 2-0 lead. The momentum continued as Maninder Singh, Mandeep Mor, and Uttam Singh scored in rapid succession, further extending India’s lead. Despite Egypt’s efforts to intensify their attacks, Amr Sayed managed to score two goals, keeping his team in the competition. At halftime, India maintained a 5-2 lead.

In the latter part of the game, Egypt initiated a series of assertive offensives in an attempt to make a comeback. However, Maninder Singh once again found the net, extending India’s lead to 6-2. Subsequently, Egypt managed to secure rapid goals courtesy of Mostafa Ragab and Karim Atef. In response, India shifted their emphasis to defensive play and successfully maintained their lead until the conclusion of the match.
